The Fight On eTaxes.
The Advisory Committee on Electronic Commerce (ACEC) has concluded its deliberations and voted 10-8 that the following be recommended to Congress:
Make permanent the ban on Internet access taxes
Eliminate the 3% federal excise tax on telecommunications.
Adopt legislation expanding the 1992 U.S. Supreme Court decision (known as the Quill decision) prohibiting states from taxing mail order sales.
Extend the moratorium on all Internet taxation for an additional five years.
